do we have a sense of what people want to use the API for?
IIRC there was a desire for participation metrics.
i could imagine notifications being useful.
i also could imagine a challenges API facilitating integration of
challenges into more external content. so even just some badges which use a
read-only API could let others embed stuff on their webpages...
