Can we use some of this work to speed up backpack integration into
P2PU/School of Webcraft?

Sounds like Les would be a great guy to get involved. I remember an earlier
blog post about badges from him - that was way ahead of its times.

And not to leave Django underrepresented, I started poking at my Badger
issuer app again:

I think last night's hacking got code working to bake award assertions into
badge PNGs. I haven't gotten the latest backpack working, but I'm hoping
what I threw together will be compatible or at least close

Hoping to get a demo site running on my own server sometime soon
