This could be a good solution. I need to get Jamie's feedback on how long the Challenge's descriptions are going to be. If they are not very long then this might be the right solution, but if they are lengthy, then I think a modal box will be needed.

Sorry, a modal box is also called a lightbox. It's almost like a popup box, but isn't as annoying and lays on top of the page. Modal boxes are very popular with photo slideshows and for displaying extended content.
