I see there have been a lot of emails, but could someone just say in a
sentence why this happened so I don't have to read all the emails. :)

As an aside, I should be done with all of the crap I've been doing since
mid-August and might actually be able to participate after this weekend.
Disclaimer: I've thought I was going to be done several times only to find
out otherwise.
