do we have a migration plan for the old course content?
we may also want to consider having a big banner on the new site giving
people a heads up about the new site and telling them that a) no new courses
will run on the old site after this round, b) they are welcome to try the
new site in beta now, and c) the new site will be production ready by
such-and-such date. also probably sending an announce email to all site
users.
re moving up the date, i haven't been part of any migration discussions so
that's the biggest scary thing and strikes me as a complex/possibly messy
process...
