Well that would have been me you are referring to. In response to a thread
discussing "Intelligent study group momentum machine" which wandered into
the topic of sending automated messages to keep a heart beat going in a
course:

I crafted a 10 minute script to automatically send an email a test message
to 10 people in a course after privately testing it.
