Hey Webcrafters -

We are working on finalizing additional badges to add to the current
portfolio (including Python, JQuery, HTML, CSS and more) and we want your
feedback and insights on the assessments behind them.

As many of you know from previous emails, we are attempting to create an
alternative system of accreditation and credentialing, where you can
participate in SoW courses/study groups and then take assessments to
demonstrate the skills you have learned. Successful completion of the the
assessments earns you badges which you can then use to show off your skill
set to peers, potential employers, formal institutions, etc.

The important part is to make sure that the assessments behind the badges
are appropriate and effective at demonstrating the right skill. We don't
want something to easy or too hard, but that's tough to tell since we aren't
experts in most (or all of this).* So we need your help. *

Please see this blog post for all the details:

But to summarize here, check out the current working
plan<http://etherpad.mozilla.com:9000/phase2-badges> and
help us:

   1. *fill in the blanks* (we need ideas for challenges/exercises/projects
for basic python and basic jquery)
   2. *review existing assessments* (do the challenges we have outlined
appropriately capture the right skill at the right level?)
   3. *review rubrics* (what should the work be evaluated against? what
should the submitted code include to qualify as sufficiently skilled?)

You can make suggestions and give feedback on this list, in the
etherpad<http://etherpad.mozilla.com:9000/phase2-badges> or
as a comment on the blog
entry<http://erinknight.com/post/6297138742/new-badges-and-assessments-help-needed>
.

Thanks!
Erin
