Dan, we all appreciate your contributions, but I really dislike your snarky tone. We are all working hard on trying to make this release the best it can be. Some choices have been made, they can be changed. Others are very preliminary for this first release. I think everyone here are happy to reconsider choices, given good reasons and a measured debate. But your tone feels very hostile - we are not enemies here.

Let's assume that we all mean well, and try to move forwards to create a great learning site. If you want to run a course on Canvas - great, no problem, it would be a very interesting example for the community. If we need a discussion about what tags to allow in Lernanta, let's have that discussion.

While the big shots fight the video format battle we should definitely create our own barriers by not allowing HTML5 elements to be composed in the rich text editor. This would be in line with our extant policy. Definitely no s, <applet>s, s, 's or svg. Just ban anything that could take a src attribute. Why not just remove the Source button from the rich text editor altogether? May as well ban JavaScript from the site as well as it can be the source of a lot of mischief.
